Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh
Known as "Mother Mushroom," the Vietnamese blogger Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh lives in exile in Houston, Texas. While in Vietnam, Quynh was sentenced to 10 years in prison for "conducting propaganda against state"— a common accusation filed against critics. In 2017, she received a U.S. International Women of Courage Award.

Nguyen Van Hai
Vietnamese blogger Nguyen Van Hai, also known as Dieu Cay, lives in exile in the U.S. A founding member of the Free Journalists Club in Vietnam, Hai served six and a half years in prison in relation to his work, before being freed and deported to the U.S. in 2014.
